The Yale Young Global Scholars Program

To ensure that students from all around the globe have access to Yale's renowned educational and leadership programs, the Yale Institution established the Yale Young Global Scholars program. The program's goal is to provide students with opportunities like these. The primary purpose of the YYGS program is to prepare the young of today to assume positions of leadership on a worldwide scale in the near future.

The mission of the YYGS program is to bring together the world's best high school students so that they may change the world for the better. Bringing these pupils together into a cohesive unit is the key to achieving this goal. This network will grow by using already connections in place around the globe. More than 125 different nationalities are represented among the roughly 4,000 undergraduate students at Yale University throughout each of the university's two-week terms. Therefore, be sure you're ready to join a community that includes some of the world's most intelligent and diverse high school students from all corners of the globe.

Students have the ability to attend any one of the three sessions that YYGS offers throughout the year and choose from a wide range of courses to participate in. Having said that, it's important to note that not every subject is addressed during each and every session. This suggests that certain courses have session limitations, which in turn enhances the amount of rivalry that occurs inside the courses. The following educational opportunities will be made available to applicants of YYGS beginning in the year 2020:

  • Biomedical and Biological Research
  • Language, Thought, and Cultural Practice
  • Politics Economics and Law
  • Addressing Global Issues
  • A&E (Applications of Science)
Before the end of 2022, all YYGS meetings will be streamed digitally. Because of the importance placed on the well-being of the whole YYGS community and the desire to remain true to the program's original intent that it be open to students from all over the world, YYGS has made the decision to hold the program entirely online. The goal is to have a globally varied, intellectually engaging, and open-to-all-students curriculum.

Frequently Asked Questions(FAG's)

What is the benefits of Yale Young Global Scholars Program?

Students may experience some of the benefits of being a college student while also interacting with students from across the world who share their interests. Students take part in lectures and seminars and make the most of the virtual campus's resources by chatting with Yale academics, visiting renowned libraries and museums, and doing research in Yale's labs. Each student improves their research skills and public speaking talents via the completion of our in-depth Capstone Project.

Our program is best suited for young people in positions of leadership who demonstrate genuine curiosity and enthusiasm in the subject matter of the academic session they have chosen to participate in. At YYGS, students may participate in a wide variety of academic settings, from large faculty lectures to intimate seminars. Learning strategies that are transparent, inquisitive, and cooperative are emphasized in YYGS. YYGS students come from over 150 countries and all 50 states in the United States, making for richly diverse and globally focused classroom discussions.

I am having troubles submitting my applications, what should I do?

YYGS is aware that many students may have difficulties working with school administration or teachers to submit the necessary papers this academic year. The difficulties of the world are not lost on YYGS. Transcripts are an example of the kind of content that fits this description, although it is by no means all of the possible options.

Transcripts given by the educational institution itself are considered official papers by YYGS. Sure, send them over; they'd be interested. Before submitting their YYGS application, students need to fill out the "Education" part. Afterwards, YYGS will provide the relevant school official a URL where the student's transcript may be uploaded. It is expected that the student will share this link to the school administration (s).

Although certified transcripts are preferred, students are given the option of submitting an unofficial transcript to YYGS. This process continues until a final transcript is produced. It is possible for students to do this by concentrating on the Education component of the YYGS application. Applicants are often required to provide a copy of their academic transcript by either photographing it with their mobile device or taking a screenshot of the appropriate page in an online portal. Before moving on to the next activity, students must complete the current one.

What if am unable to submit my recommendation forms?

Many students may find it challenging to coordinate with school authorities or instructors at their various institutions in order to submit evidence this year, and YYGS is anticipating this challenge. There are some recommendations in these materials, but they are not the only kind of information available.

At present moment, the YYGS needs two suggestions. No hard copies of reference letters will be accepted; only online YYGS Reference Forms supplied by the referee will be considered. The form allows reviewers to assess applications from all over the globe, and they anticipate that it will help recommenders save time thanks to its straightforward design.

Young people should strongly consider asking for recommendations from persons in positions of authority, such as teachers, guidance counselors, coaches, adult club leaders (such as a youth group leader, choir director, or math club supervisor), and/or employers. You may get a recommendation from the current school you're attending, or from another school you've attended in the past.

An individual's recommendation of you will carry greater weight if they have known you for a longer period of time.

They do not accept recommendations from students' parents or legal guardians, siblings, other family members, friends of the family, or paid private tutors or counselors.

If students want to apply to YYGS, they need to fill out the "Recommendations" portion of the application. Once this part is complete, YYGS will send a link to an online form to the student's recommender(s), where they may offer their endorsement.

You may submit your application to YYGS even if your recommender has not yet finished their form; in that case, the whole application, including both yours and theirs, will be examined simultaneously. This choice is yours to make, and you should be made aware of it if you so want. Remember that you have this option available to you.

Conclusion

Takin part in the Yale Young's scholars program might be quite easy than you think, you only need to step out of your comfort zone and try something new and exciting. as you continue to explore more beyond your imaginations
